Very quick poll to end the week, and an added question to make things more interesting than just clicking on options.
How did you discover Idina? What was the first movie/show/song you saw or listened to of hers?
For me, my first Idina “thing” was the Wicked OBCR. I was a huge fan of Pushing Daisies back then and really liked Kristin Chenoweth which led to listening to Wicked and really loving this “other girl’s” voice. I’ve been a fan ever since :)
And I’m 28.

I discovered Idina through the Wicked OBCR. This guy who was my friend had seen it and made me listen to the music and I fell in love with Idina and immediately found every other thing she had ever done. I’m 24.
I was a huge musical fan and so I knew of Rent and Wicked before I became a fan of Idina but I was in a bookstore when I came across the wonderful book of Wicked and I fell in love with it. From this, I researched in to the musical and the OBC and instantly fell in love with Idina and have loved her ever since.
I fell in love with the OBCR of Wicked when I was probably 12 and every since I was a little girl I’d always been in love with Glinda from the Wizard of Oz. So Wicked was the next best thing as I got older. When I got into middle school my choir teacher exposed me to the RENT movie and I absolutely fell in love from that point on I was obsessed with everything Idina touch now I can say I’ve had the honor I meet her and sing with her a true dream come true.
I discovered Idina in RENT <3 on Dec. 2, 2005 around 9pm (I have a thing with dates that represent something in my life, that's why I know). I fell in love with her from the very beginning and have been a fan ever since. My "Idinaversary" is coming and it'll be such an important one because now I can say I've met her, took a pic with her, had her sign my arm for a tattoo and she reached out to hug me. She makes life worth living.
I saw Idina in Wicked in 2004. I had no idea who she was. I didn’t want to see the show because I was always scared of the Wicked Witch of the West as a kid, but I heard Wicked was amazing and went to see it. Then, Idina came onstage and I was in awe of her talent. So i tstartedf from there. I went on her website everyday, listened to the Wicked soundtrack obsessively, and became more obsessed with her.
I was about 13 years old when I first heard of Idina. It was around the time Rent the movie came out. My cousins best friend was obsessed, and then she showed it to me. I loved maureen and Mimi. My cousin mentioned that the girl who played Maureen was in another musical named “Wicked” and showed me a clip on YouTube . That was it. Been in love since then. I’m almost 22 now :3
I became a fan of Idina through the musical Rent. I did not see the original cast, as I was only 8 when it came out. BUT- I have always loved musical theater and when I was about 13 or 14, I started looking up soundtracks to shows I hadn’t seen yet and Rent was by far my favorite. Take Me or Leave Me became like my anthem and the rest is history! I just adore everything about Idina. She is an extremely talented and yet grounded human being. I’ve been a fan for 12 years now…. and counting :)
I became a mega fan of Idina when I was asked to do a project on a famous person and I chose her! After that it all just escalated from there! I had the amazingly good fortune to be able to meet and take a picture with her in New York City (even though I was not allowed to see If/Then) I am 10 almost 11 years old!
I become obsessed with the OBCR of Wicked around 2004/2005 when I was about 13. I had just seen Wicked in Toronto and bought the recording, only to fall in love with Idina’s voice. I’ve been a huge fan ever since!! I only saw her for the first time in 2011 on her BATS tour (where I got a picture with her!!!), but I’ve seen her 3 times since then, which were of course the most magical moments of my life.
I first came across Idina when I listened to the Rent cast album in about 2001. I loved the entire album, and of course loved Idina’s voice. But I never really knew who Idina was until the Wicked album came out. I had been waiting for the album to be released after reading about the show online. Listening through, I was blown away with Idina’s voice and those songs. I then started to learn more about Idina online, bought a used copy of Still I Can’t Be Still, and then bought Here when it came out. I Stand came out during my junior year of high school, and I was so in love with the album. I live in Illinois, so I was never able to see Idina live until she went on tour for I Stand. Her show at House of Blues in Chicago remains one of the best concerts I’ve been to, topping Springsteen, Elton John, and many others I’ve been to. Her voice is extremely special, but her persona is even more attractive. She really is a one of a kind artist. Seeing the mainstream success she’s getting with Frozen has been a really exciting time, and I am so happy that the world is now getting to experience what I’ve seen for the past 14 years.
