Idina Menzel, formerly of Rent and The Wild Party, sings her own pop and blues tunes in the Sh-K-Boom Room at the Cutting Room Dec. 7. Joining her will be singer-songwriter Gavin DeGraw. Menzel made her Broadway splash as Maureen in the original company of Rent. She most recently trod the NYC boards as Kate in the Manhattan Theatre Club production of The Wild Party. Prior to that role, she traveled the country promoting her first album, “Still I Can’t Be Still” and performed with Lilith Fair. She is currently at work on her second album.
DeGraw is less well known, but the pianist has some acting experience. He performed the UPS delivery man and salesman in Working at Connecticut’s Long Wharf Theatre in the 1999 revival of the musical.
